North African Advice and Consultancy Services

MOHAMED BEN-MADANI FRSA, Editor and founder of The Maghreb Review (1976) covering North Africa, Middle East, Africa and Islamic studies. He advises companies, educational institutions and the media on Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Mauritania. He is also a regular broadcaster for the BBC, Vatican Radio, Al Jazeera, CBC, France 24 and the world media. He has organised over 30 international conferences in Britain and Europe – the latest was on “Colonial Heritage in the Middle East and the Maghreb: the Shaping of Hopes and Perspectives”, Mansfield College, Oxford 24-25 June 2013 – covering all aspects of the Maghreb, Islamic studies and the Mediterranean area. Papers presented at these conferences have been published in The Maghreb Review.
    He was educated in France, Germany and the UK, and has written widely in academic journals and the British newspapers and magazines in France and North Africa since 1976. His first publication was in Suddeutsche Zeitung on France, Israel and the Arabs (Frankreich, Israel und die Araber) on 30/31 March 1968, while still a student in Munich. He has also participated in a number of international conferences throughout the world, including, since 2005, as a regularly invited panellist and convenor at the annual Economic Forum held in Poland.
    He is a member of the National Union of Journalists, UK; former member of Foreign Press Association in London, and served on the board 2003-2005; since 2006, Life Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA), and from September 2011 to October 2014 RSA London Region Committee member; since 2013, Member of the Royal Institute of Philosophy, United Kingdom; and member of other learned societies.
